Awarded to the Indian Mutiny Medal 1857-59.
Medals to troops who took part in the original defence of Lucknow under Sir Henry Lawrence and following his death, Major General Sir John Inglis are highly sought after. This clasp was also awarded to the 1st Relief Force under Sir Henry Havelock and a few civilians.
The clasp covers the period 29th June to 22nd November 1857.
