Awarded to the Military General Service Medal 1799-1814.
Covers the actions at the village of Albuhera on 16th May 1811. This battle has been described as 'one of the fiercest on human record' with the allied losses in killed, wounded and missing exceeding 6,000. The English loss was 984 killed, 2993 wounded 570 missing. the French loss is estimated at over 8,000.
