Awarded to the Military General Service Medal 1799-1814.
Wellington renewed his offensive against the French in Spain, early 1812. In his way was the French held fortress of Ciudad Rodrigo. He commenced his attack on the fortress on 8th January 1812 after marching through heavy snow.
The garrison was finally captured on 19th January.
