Authorised on 1st December 1889 and issued in both silver and bronze.
This clasp was awarded for numerous operations throughout Burma and it is often found in combination with the clasp BURMA 1885-7.
Surgeon John Crimmin of The Bombay Medical Service was awarded the Victoria Cross for this campaign.
