Awarded to commissioned officers in the Territorial Army for 20 years service, service in the ranks counting for half and war service for double.

In 1949 the qualifying time was dropped to 12 years with bars awarded for every 6 years service.

This is the Decoration as worn by the Honourable Artillery Company, other reserve units wore it with the usual ribbon, see here:-
