Andrew Stanley Bulley was born in Eton, Buckinghamshire in 1960. He was a member of the Air Defence Troop of the Royal Marines - a Sub Unit of HQ & SIGNALS Squadron stationed at Stonehouse Barracks, Plymouth and participated in Operations Paraquat and Keyhole during the Falklands War. .

Whilst fighting in the Gulf in 1990 he sent a Christmas message home to his wife Susan telling her that he would see her soon.

Towards the end of his life he was a heavy drinker and was living out of his car in Dartmouth. He was oft quoted as saying "Once an Air Defender always an Air Defender." Drinking had affected his speech and, after he lost the use of his legs, it took him years to learn how to walk.

He is known for his photographic documentation of the Royal Marines during the Falklands conflict. Bulley passed away in Plymouth in 2021

Sold with an original group photograph of his Company taken on a train station prior to their departure for the Falklands, an S.S. Canberra bottle opener, two copy photos - one of his Company at Stonehouse and another of him with comrades aboard ship.
