13469/241147/6280395 Pte Frank Colley was born in Salwarpe, Droitwich on 25.12.1895. He served with the 3/Worcestershire Regiment from 1914 and was sent to France on 6.2.1915 where he was listed as WIA on 22.3.1915 in an incident that must have shortly after his arrival at the front. He transferred to the 1/5 E Kent Regiment and saw action with them in Iraq before transferring to the Royal Tank C/7 Arm Tank Corps with who he served in India.
A long serving Regular Army man, he was awarded the GSM Iraq on 30.10.1923 whilst with 1/5th Battalion, The Buffs, attached 8th Light Armoured Motor Battery as Private 241147; and the IGS Waziristan awarded 17.9.1925. He took his discharge on 13.2.1938 with a conduct rating of Exemplary.
