Walter Swaine seems to have been born in London, he enlisted in Highgate. He served 4th Bn London Regt (4th Royal Fus), 6th South Wales Bord, 1st Monmouthshire R and 29th London Regt. He was sent to France on 27.10.1915 and was Wounded in Action on 4 June 1918 (War Office Weekly Casualty List June 4, 1916) He was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery in the Field in the LG of 11.6.1918.

This was whilst serving with the Monmouthshire Regiment/Sales Wales Borderers. His surname is often confused with some versions showing Swain whilst other records refer to Swaine.

Medals all in good, original condition unless otherwise specified. Sold with some copied research.
