James Wilson was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire in about 1893. He attested for service and served with No. 1 Platoon. "A" Company of the 1st Battalion Border Regiment in the Dardanelles (Gallipoli) from 25 April 1915. Unbelievably, he was Killed in Action (Death Presumed) only FOUR days after arriving in the theatre of war - on 28.4.1915 - during the first Battle of Krithia.
