William Barratt (also Barrett) was born in 1858. He attested with the 60th Foot/2nd Bn KRRC on 28.4.1876 and embarked for India on 30.10.1878 where he served in the Afghan War earning the Ahmed Khel and Kandahar clasps to his Afghan medal. He was also in the 320 mile march from Kabul to Kandahar in Afghanistan between 9–31 August 1880, under the command of Lieutenant-General Sir Frederick Roberts earning the Kabul to Kandahar Star. He would appear to have subsequent service in Egypt in 1882, earning the Egypt Medal which is not included with the group.
Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some research.
