A Bank Clerk when he enlisted for service with the RNVR on 12 April 1918 he served as an Ordinary Telegraphist aboard Harwick before taking his discharge to join the South Irish Coastguard on 18 December 1918. He was a Pilot Officer with the Training Branch of the RAFVR in 1941 and, on two occasions, extended his service with them until finally retiring with the rank of Acting Squadron Leader in 1960.

According to the 1939 Register he was a Bank Clerk and ARP Ambulance section Worker living at 99 Fernleigh Drive Southend. He died there in June 1981.

He had changed his name to Thomas Henry Watson-Lamb at some point.
