839 Pte William Henry Wilde was born in Shernal Green Hazdor, Droitwich, Worcestershire in 1861. He served with the South Wales Borderers in the Third Burmese War and Died in Service (according to the medal roll).
6583 Sergeant Hiram John Wild was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire in 1879. He served with the Royal Worcestershire Regiment in France from 22 March 1915 and was discharged, at the age of 40, on 13 May 1919. According to the 1921 census he was a Lapping Tuber in the employ of the Dunlop Rubber Company living at 40 Salisbury Road, Saltley, Birmingham. He was still at the same address pursuing the same occupation when the 1939 Register was taken and still living there when he passed away on 27 December 1957.
John F Wild was serving in the Royal Navy in 1943 and earned the War and Defence Medals.
Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. The whole in an attractive wooden and glass frame, mounted for swift removal and on medal bars for wear. Sold with some research. Please note how the spelling of the surname evolved over time.
