Harold William Perks was born in Birmingham in 1897. He served with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in WWI and was discharged with Frost Bite to his toes and an Injured Foot on 28.2.1919.
According to the 1939 Register he was an Ambulance Driver with the ARP during WWII whilst living at 184 Curbar Road, Birmingham. He was also a First Aid man and on a disability pension although this did not stop him from being a Bus Driver with the Birmingham City Transport.
A keen St John Ambulance enthusiast, he was awarded the status of Serving Brother at a function in Birmingham in October 1957.
He died in Birmingham in December 1979.
