Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Civil Division, M.B.E. - unnamed as awarded in original case of issue with original Warrant and covering letter from the Chancery.
Raymond John Brown was educated at Wells Cathedral School and Clifton College graduating with a B.Sc. degree from the Birmingham University. Originally a Coal Miner Brown moved to Scotland with his wife where he joined the ICI (Imperial Chemical Industries) He worked for the organisation for 33 years until his retirement in 1965 and was seconded from the ICI to the Royal engineers to help training in the use of Explosives during WWII.
It was for this work that he was awarded the MBE in 1946.
Medal is in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some research and two framed photos of the recipient.
