Ronald Taylor Whitehorn was born in Whitley Bay, Northumberland in 1883 the son of an Attorney. He was a qualified Draughtsman/.Architect when he attested for service in WWI on 8.1914 with 11 Divisional Signal Company, R.E. He was posted to Gallipoli (Dardanelles) on 2.7.1915 and thereafter to France, landing there on 8 July 1916. He was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery in the Field (LG 30364 30 October 1917) and was awarded the Bar to the MM on 25 January 1918. 

He was discharged to Reserve on 10.6.1919 and, having been an avid cricketer, he returned to the playing field. He was also very active in Rotary circles. 

The 1939 Register has him as an Estate Agent and Surveyor living at 21 Sandringham Drive, Longbenton.

He died in Northumberland in April 1967.

Sold with some research. The medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated.
