Order of the British Empire O.B.E.; 1914-15 Star (LIEUT. A.P. LILLIE. MANCH. R.); British War Medal (LIEUT. A.P. LILLIE); Victory Medal (LIEUT. A.P. LILLIE); India Service Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; United Nations Korea Medal - these last three unnamed as awarded.

Arthur Patrick Lillie was born in Bideford, Devon in 1894. He was educated at Haileybury College and commissioned into the 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment, D Coy. He went to France on 12.11.1915 and was Wounded in Action - a Gun Shot Wound to the Right Arm - on 14.7.1916. After the war he qualified as a Solicitor and entered WWII with the Buffs (East Kent Regiment) - he was promoted to Major, Temporary Lt Colonel on 25 August 1943. He was later attached to the Indian Army earning their version of the Defence Medal to go with the War Medal 1939-45 he earned.

He would appear to have had subsequent service in the Korean Conflict as his group includes an unnamed (as awarded) United Nations Korea Medal. His address when he applied for his WWII medals in March 1952 was Army Legal Aid, 8 Lennox Gardens, London.

He passed away in Hillingdon, London in January 1968
