Joseph Bird was born in London in 1901. He served as an Engineer in the Merchant Navy in late WWI and must have either already lived in Australia or moved there before his medals were issued in 1924 as they are Australian issue.
Although Merchant Navy records for the most part of WWI were destroyed we know that he had post-war service aboard the Gloucester Castle.
Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some research.
