John William Perrior was born in Hounslow. London in 1888. He enlisted with the Middlesex Regiment in Hounslow as a boy aged 14 years old in 1901. He transferred to the Royal Fusiliers in 1904 before serving with the Middlesex Regiment from July 1916 to January 1919, by 1920 he was serving in East Prussia and promoted to the rank of Sergeant, later Sgt Drummer and Band Sergeant. He was awarded the LSGCM in March 1920
He was discharged on the 12th September 1922 with a glowing report 'A most reliable, intelligent NCO who has always done remarkably well. Trustworthy and sober, 1st Class musician and side drummer, good athlete, 2nd Class Certificate of Education.' He remained in the Army, transferring to the Royal Berkshires with whom he stayed until the end of 1925 having completed 21 years service. He then became an Army Recruiter in London.
He seems to have spent the rest of his life in Hounslow where he died, a retired Security Officer, at the age of 80 on 25 January 1958.
According to the 1939 Register he was an Army Recruiter living at 6/7 Cranworth Gardens, Lambeth
