Saumarez William Cameron was born in Dublin on 29 May 1850. He was commissioned into the 80th Foot on 17 Janaury 1872 and saw action in the Perak Expedition of 1875/6. He was then active in the Straits Settlement before being moving with his regiment to South Africa where he served from 6 September 1878 until 11 May 1880 - in the campaign against the Sekukuni in the Transvaal and, later, in Natal.
He died in Grantham, Lincolnshire in 1916.
Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research including his officer's papers which confirm these medals to be his sole entitlement.
