Frederick Miller was born in South Shields in 1889. A Machinist by trade he enlisted with the Royal Navy in September 1907 and served in the Persian Gulf in 1909 aboard Prosperine. He saw service aboard HMS Repulse in WWI, earning a pair of medals. After a brief 3 months break in service when he was working for a Brewery in Mortlake, he re-enlisted and was seconded to the Royal Australian Navy in the 1920's. He was discharged (invalided) with Chronic Bronchitis on 11 November 1939 whilst stationed at Pembroke.
According to the 1939 Register he was a Furniture Workhouseman and Royal Navy Petty Officer living at 326 Victoria Road, Ruislip, Middlesex.
Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research including the original Continuous Certificate of Discharge and a wealth of original paperwork, testimonials and correspondence, including his British Mercantile Marine Identity and Service Certificate.
