Edward Anderson served with the 10th and 18th Hussars. He was born in 1874 in Middlesbrough and fought in several of the early battles of the Anglo Boer War being in the country from 6.11.1899 until 22.1.1902
He was an entrant to France in WWI earning the 1914 clasp and medal. He was Wounded in Action on 15/02/1916 and discharged, as a result of his injuries, on 16.6.1917.
He kept the same number throughout his military service and was described as "an honest man and hard working soldier" on discharge.
His discharge address on 16.6.1919 was Stewart's Buildings, Newton Grange, Midlothian
