Samuel Johnson was born in Barnsley, Yorkshire in 1895 Having joined the Royal Navy he was serving aboard HMS Argon when he died of Pneumonia on 23.10.1918. He is interred in the Queenstown Cemetery (Ireland) His next of kin was his brother William of 72 Carlton Terrace, Carlton, near Barnsley.
