Samuel Johnson was born in Barnsley, Yorkshire on 16 June 1895. Having joined the Royal Navy on 16 June 1915, he was serving aboard HMS Argon when he died of Pneumonia on 23.10.1918. He is interred in the Queenstown Cemetery (Ireland) His next of kin was his father William of 72 Carlton Terrace, Carlton, near Barnsley.
