Two brothers, tragically Killed in Action in France
William Nicholls was born in 1893 in Roche, Cornwall. He served with the 1st Battalion, Duke of Cornwall Light Infantry and was posted to France on 29 May 1915. He was Presumed Dead/Killed in Action on 29 July 1916 and is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.
Older brother Gordon Arthur was born in St Dennis, Cornwall in 1890 and served with the 10th battalion, D.C.L.I. in France. He was Killed in Action on 3 December 1917 and is buried in the Hermies Hill Military Cemetery.
