Accompanied by a large frame with a postcard photo of Percy Fogg surrounded by embroidered messages the boys had sent home to their mother with the inscription "United For Ever."
Percy Fogg was born in Ongar, Essex in 1896. He served with the 1st Battalion, Devonshire Regiment in France & Flanders from 13 November 1914 and was Killed in Action in operations around the Longueval and Delville Wood sectors on 23 July 1916. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.
Ernest Fogg was born in Ongar, Essex in 1894. He enlisted for service after his younger brother Percy, and was sent to France with the 8th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment on 16 January 1915. He was Killed in Action on 23 September 1916 during the attack on the Thiepval Schwaben and Zollern trenches. He is remembered with honour in the Regina Trench Cemetery, Grandcourt.
James Fogg, the eldest of the three brothers, was born in Ongar, Essex in 1893. He served in France with the Royal Garrison Artillery as a Gunner and was reported as Wounded in Action on 18 October 1918. He survived the war and died in Ongar on 23 May 1938.
