Robert Arthur Hart was born in Palmer's Green in 1898 He was educated at the Stationer's Company's School, Christ's Hospital. Horsham and was commissioned into the 6th Bn Worcester Regiment. He was sent to France & Flanders in February 1916 and, having been Wounded in Action on 31 July whilst attached to the 1st Battalion, Died of Wounds on 1 August 1917 in 32 Casualty Clearing Station. 

The War Diary for the 1st Worcestershire Regiment for 31 July reads, "Attack commenced qt 3.50 a.m. when light was just beginning to show in the east. Batt attacked the enemy behind a creeping barrage of shrapnel. Battalion captured IGNORANCE TRENCH without much opposition. Batt encountered some M6 fire and fire from snipers from the right flank, and the enemy barrage, at first weak, fell behind IGNORANCE TRENCH causing some casualties. A good many dugouts were bombed by the moppers up..... During the rest of the day the Bn continued to consolidate the BLUE LINE, under heavy shell fire and indirect MG fire. During the evening heavy rain commenced to fall and continued throughout the night. Casualties Killed 3 Officers 22 OR." Hart was one of the officers killed. 

He is buried at Brandhoek New Military Cemetery, Belgium, II. F. 8.
