Son: 1939-45 Star; France & Germany Star; Defence Medal; War Medal 1939-45 - unnamed as awarded in original box of issue with award slip addressed to Mr E. Nelmes, 10 Oxbury Ave., Fulham, SW6 - with copies of educational certificates and a St John Ambulance First Aid Certiificate.

Father: Edwin M Nelmes was born in Torypandy in 1896. He enlisted with the RA in 1915 as a Driver and served until 1927.

Son: Guardsman Edwin Nelmes b 1912. He joined the 1st Bn Welsh Guards and saw service with them in North West Europe where he was twice WIA - on 15 Nov 1944 & on March 1945

According to the 1939 Register the father was a Postman living at 35 Cedar Road, Preston, Lancs.

The son's address, when his WWII medals were posted to him in 1949, was 16 Oxberry Avenue, Fulham, SW6.
