British War Medal (201688 PTE. C.G. THOMAS. DEVON.R.); Victory Medal (201688 PTE. C.G. THOMAS. DEVON.R.); Coronation Medal 1953; Efficiency Medal GVR, bar India with two award bars (SJT. C.G. THOMAS. 1 E. I. RY. R., A.F.I.); War Medal 1939-45; India Service Medal - unnamed as awarded.

Cyril Glanville Thomas was born in Exeter, Devon on 21 July 1896. He enlisted for service in WWI with the 2/4th Devonshire Regiment, transferring to the 1st Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry before moving back to the Devon's.

Interestingly, he was baptised in Assam, India on 9 February 1923 (at the age of 27), indicating that he was already resident in that country by that date.

He was awarded the 1937 Coronation Medal and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the London Gazette of 26 May 1944. He was awarded the Efficiency Medal with the seldom seen India bar, along with two service bars.

Having returned to live in the United Kingdom on 23 March 1960, he passed away in Greenwich, London ten months later, on 21 December 1960.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research.
