Arthur Pegg was born in Camberwell, London on 3 December 1874. He attested for service with the Royal Artillery in 1893 and was posted to the 7th Battery RFA. He served in India from 1896 to 1902 and, after a short stint back Home, was posted back there in 1903 - serving continuously until the outbreak of WWI. In the process he was awarded his Long Service & Good Conduct Medal and the Delhi Durbar in 1911.

He was posted to France on 10 March 1915 and returned to England after a relatively short service with the BEF, on 25 June 1915. He was discharged on 4 September 1915 after 21 years service and took no further part in the war. The address his medals were posted to was 16 Peabody Estate, Herne Hill, S.E.

He would appear to have been commissioned a Lieutenant & Quartermaster at some stage.

He died in Middlesex on 22 April 1949.
