Charles Edward Molloy was born in Forest Gate, London in 1900. He joined the Royal Navy as a Boy in 1916, seeing service aboard several vessels before transferring to the Royal Fleet Reserve in 1929. He served in WWII, primarily aboard the Minesweeper Paragon and was released in 1945.

According to the 1939 Register he was living at 52 Broadmead SE6, Lewisham, London and was an Able Seaman, RN, attached to 1A Mess, RN Barracks, Portsmouth.

He died in Thanet, Kent in July 1979.
