George Stuart Green had an unusual war. Born in Wandsworth in 1895 he attested for service with 3 London Regiment on 28 October 1913. On the outbreak of WWI he was posted to Malta where he served from 5.9.14 - 7.8.1915 before returning home where he was posted to the Royal Defence Corps - seeing no further action. He was awarded the BWM for Malta and the Territorial Forces War Medal. He was discharged from the army with Dyspepsia on 17 December 1917 - this is his full entitlement.
According to the 1939 Register he was a Wine Merchant's Clerk living at 94 Taybridge Road, Battersea.
He passed away in Battersea on 18 May 1962.
