Louis Edward Holdsworth was born in Huddersfield in 1894. He served with the West Riding Regiment in WWI, later transferring to the Royal Engineers, number 477088, with whom he was Wounded in Action (reported 18.12.1917)
As Superintendent of the Stocksbridge Fire Brigade he was involved in an accident when he was peddling his bicycle and was struck from behind by a motor bike.
According to the 1939 Register he was living at 7 Sheldon Road, Stocksbridge, Yorkshire and was a Chargehand Joiner at a Steel Works and Chief Officer at the Fire Brigade. He was also a Special Constable.
He died in March 1971.
