Conrad Marshall Brighton was born in Sudbury, Suffolk in 1912. He served in WWII with the 6th Battalion Grenadier Guards and was Killed in Action KIA Salerno Italy 13.9.1943 aged 30

On 13 September 1943, the day Brighton was reported as Missing and then Killed in Action, the 6th Battalion Grenadier Guards was engaged in heavy fighting at Salerno, Italy, as part of the 201st Guards Brigade during the Salerno landings, experiencing the start of a difficult campaign against well-prepared German defenses in the treacherous mountain terrain. The Grenadiers were among the first British troops to land in mainland Europe since the evacuation from Dunkirk, part of the US Fifth Army's invasion force.

According to the 1939 Register he was living at 24 Grange Road, Ampthill, Bedfordshire where he was employed as the Relieving Officer.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with copied research and including an original letter from Regimental Headquarters to recipient's wife accompanying his medals - dated 13 January 1950.
