Wilfred Thomas Penny was born in Doncaster in 1903. A Master Butcher in later life, he served with the RAF in WWII and the Fire Brigade thereafter, being awarded the LSGCM as Station Officer during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

According to the 1939 Register he was a Butcher/Shopkeeper and an ARP member with the Doncaster County Borough living at 161 Carr House Road, Doncaster. He passed away in Doncaster on 30 June 1966.
