George Leslie Girard was born in Liverpool on 28 January 1925. He was later mustered as 21011226 with the Liverpool Scottish and took part in the D Day landings. He saw service post-war, in Palestine serving at Gaza during the settlement of the Israeli and Palestine states. His later service was with the Territorials with 8th (T) battalion.

An Electrical Engineer by trade he was given a glowing testimonial on discharge on 14 June 1947 with his OC saying, " An excellent type. Conscientious, trustworthy and a leader of outstanding merit."

He was awarded the General Service Medal on 5 November 1955 and a bar to the Efficiency Medal in 1961.

According to the 1939 Register he was an Apprentice at an Electrical manufacturers and was living at 82 Maiden lane, Liverpool.

He passed away on 18 February 2010.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research.
