George Elliott served with the Royal Field Artillery in France from 12 May 1915. Surviving the war he went on to serve in WWII, possibly in the Home Guard or ARP, for which he earned a Defence Medal. He was awarded the Special Constabulary during the reign of George VI and the Long Service bar 1958.
