Roberts' war was a short one - just 64 days in an operational area. Plagued by health issues he was returned to the UK in early July 1915 and admitted to the Graylingwell War Hospital in Chichester with Varicose Veins - he refused an operation and was discharged after 26 days. He was discharged from the army on 3.12.1915 as Permanently Unfit for further War Service and passed away a few months later, post discharge, on 17.2.1916.
