James Blane North was born in Glasgow in December 1894. He was a Traveller by occupation before enlisting with the  Served "Hawke" Division RNVR on 9 January 1915. Died of Wounds - a Bullet Wound to the Head - on 2 .6.1915 in the Dardanelles. He was buried in the cemetery at Lancashire Landing by Rev. Beardmore on 23 September 1915.

North was probably wounded in trench fighting following the third battle of Krithia. By early July the Royal Naval Division was completely worn out. Nine weeks of trench fighting and life, coupled with the intensely weakening effect of an epidemic of acute diarrhoea, had taken its toll, whilst a large proportion of the Division was suffering from mental and physical exhaustion.

His address was 77 Ravenswood Drive, Shawlands, Glasgow.

Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some copied research.
